RAF WW2 Records
Our Royal Air Force WW2 records are mainly from unit Operational Record Books. These cover RAF Group, Wing, Squadron and RAF Station’s. Along with the units in supporting rolls, for example the RAF Regiment, Signals, Air-Sea Rescue, Maintenance.
These records are an amazing source of information to trace on individuals. Our database includes both Aircrew and Ground Crew. Of the 1’208’000 who served in the RAF 85% were Ground Crew. An important, sometimes forgotten group of men and women. Aircrew are quite well covered on another website.
Documents consulted are help at The National Archives, Kew.

Courses and Qualifications. These can be such as attending gunnery courses or signals.
Movement and transfers. Often within these records are details of the movement of the whole unit to a new RAF Station or moving overseas.
